Challenge
Agricultural decisions are made under uncertainty. Before harvest, farmers and advisors may need to assess crop development, determine where scouting is needed, understand weather effects, adjust management plans, and plan around projected production. A useful forecast must help users understand what influences the estimate and how much confidence to place in it.

Yield forecasts can contextualize crop-performance patterns and support planning without being treated as proof of causal agricultural outcomes.

Method
Agropod worked with farmers and crop advisors to identify forecasts that could assist real decisions. The project examined historical yield records, weather conditions, crop-development information, soil and field characteristics, management records, remote-sensing observations, and farmer and advisor knowledge, emphasizing usability, transparency, and practical interpretation.

Process
What We Developed: a Yield-Prediction Tool, In-Season Forecasting, and a Decision-Support Interface. Project profile: farmers and crop advisors; 2023–2025; intended to improve planning and in-season decisions.
